Photo Giveaway: Flowers For Momma
When I see gladiolus flowers I always think of my momma because they are her favorite.
I also love photographing gladiolus flowers because they are rich in color, diverse in patterns & other external complexities that can only be seen when viewed closely and careful.
My momma is as beautifully complex as the gladiolus flower that she loves so much.
Her love knows no limit, her personality is as colorful as a field of wild gladiolus & that is what I love about her.
She is full of life & experiences that are inspirational when viewed closely though conversation or by looking at her hands.
She’s my momma!
OK, enough of the corny stuff!
So, I’m announcing my 1st blog giveaway for Mother’s Day.

My mother loves daffodils! The last time I gave her flowers was last Mother’s Day.
Hugs and Mocha,
Stesha
oh my. i’m not sure of my mama’s favorite flower. how terrible am i?
and – even worse – i don’t remember the last time i gave my mama flowers.
but i remember the last time she gave them to me – it was this past friday. i dropped my little girl off at her house for a little while so they could play and she took her on a walk and they picked flowers for me.
that’s the kind of mama i’ve got. 🙂
Hmmm… my mother’s name is Rose, so she loves roses, but she also loves all kinds of flowers. She has quite a collection of rose bushes in her front yard, though, some regular size and plenty of mini roses.
I think I bought her flowers on her birthday the last time we celebrated together, so about two years ago…
My mother loves pink roses and sunflowers…. The last time I gave my mothers’ flowers was for her birthday 15 yrs ago… It’s sad because that simple gift probably made her happier than all the expensive things I have given her over the years… Even if I’m not chosen I still would like to thank you for making me think about that question and realizing that it’s the simple things that matter the most, because when you take the time to do simple things they’re remembered most. So, Thank you Mr. Tafari!
My mom’s favorite flowers are without a doubt daffodils. I moved across the country this year and miss her terribly. I send her a small bunch to her office every month to let her know I’m thinking of her even though we’re far apart – 1800 flowers sure came in handy this year! Thank you for the opportunity to share something more lasting with her, this is a beautiful piece.
My mom’s favorite flower is the peony. She loves them and I have really good memories of planting peony bushes with her when I was young. You have to dig really deep holes to plant them and I remember finding so many worms and she thought it was so funny. So much fun.
My mother actually doesn’t have a favorite flower. I’ve asked her before but she always wistfully replies that anything we give her is her favorite.
The last time I went out and got her flowers was for her birthday last year. Does that make me a horrible daughter?
My mother loves tulips. We have some tulips that come up every year in the front yard.
I gave my mother flowers @ Christmas and I will be getting her some flowers for Mothers Day.
My mom loves Orchids and Lillies….and I didnt know until she mentioned it recently. I thought she love roses because that what I assumed every mom (woman) love and of course thats what i got her (maybe 5 years ago). Turns out the last time she acctually received any Orchids or Lillies is when my brother died 13 years ago. (Sorry Mom!)
So sad, I don’t know my mom’s favorite flower. I’m not sure if she even likes flowers. My mom gets roses from my dad on Valentine’s Day so he doesn’t have to sleep on the couch. But now that I think about it, she never mentions wanting flowers or how beautiful the flowers are or anything like that. Hmmm…..I’m going to have to ask her.
My mother has a few favorite flowers, but our trip to Hawaii solidified the Hibiscus as her favorite flower. Everytime we saw them, even with all of the other tropical flowers, this is the one that she always pointed out saying “Did you see how pretty that Hibiscus is over there..and look at all the different colors..they are so pretty”…I bought her a Hibiscus plant years ago, it didn’t make it…
My mom is big into flowers…so much so that she’s been designated as the floral decorator at our church for about 4 years now. She doesn’t have a particular flower that she likes because she goes crazy over wild arrangements! Tropical bunches really excite her. Mom’s health isn’t too good so I buy her long stemmed roses bi-monthly. (beautiful picture, T!)
My mom loves all flowers but she really appreciates mums because she can decorate her terrace with them. I give her flowers for all “major” holidays and occasions; however the last time I gave her flowers was a few weeks ago. She was surprised because it was not a special day, I just felt like buying her flowers.
I am a terrible daughter, because I don’t know what her favorite flower is. I know she always had plants (not flowers) around the house.
I sent her flowers last year for Mother’s day.
My mom does not have a green thumb, she kill every plant except for the Croton plant. The Croton plant has thick leaves and is impossible to kill. I give her a little Croton plant once, I think she still have it.
I linked to the Croton plant, CLICK on my name.
Thank you all so much for participating. Your stories & words made me smile.
