An American Holiday

While perched at the Top of the Rock waiting for the sun to set so that I could photograph the skyline in a time lapse series, The young woman above asked if I would take a photo of her and her friend who were visiting from France.

They really didn’t speak English, or perhaps they were pretending not to. Whatever the case, she passed me her camera & I snapped them. As I handed the camera back, I asked if I could take a photo of her.

With the Empire State Building in the background & that big turquoise bow; how could I let this chance slip?

I go the photo, hoped for a proper exposure and thanked her for her time.

The rest of my time work was spent freezing and being bumped by passersby who were in awe of the city lights.
