Where There is a Jill, There is a Way
Yesterday, I had a pretty crazy day, which included a long ass meeting, Bravo Bravo & a conversation that flipped me out.
The conversation was on Jill Scott being in town for an event with a local radio station. My heart stopped, I couldn’t ‘breeve’ right and all of that stuff.
You see, Jill Scott is my boo in my head & she has been since I heard “Gettin’ in the Way” for the 1st time back in 2000.
The event was nice and intimate with only about 40 guests whom had the opportunity to preview the new album, “The Light Of The Sun”, hear Jill talk about her creative process (which seems to be set off by Grand Marnier & OJ) etc.
My time was short at the event so I did not have the chance to hear more of the album but I did have the chance to actually talk to Jill. It felt good having that eye contact cause it made me feel like… Yeah, it was nice & I love the way she talks & moves.
One of the big surprises from the session was when Kem popped up. The guests went wild, I did too but I kept my focus on my boo as you can see in this photo.
Jill, if you’re reading this, hope you were not too turned off with me photographing you. After you went off on that guy over the video, I was like oh shit, I’m next.
