Mercedes Benz Fashion Week: Zac Posen
My Zac Posen experience was the best out of all the work that I did at NYFW this fall! The back stage scene was out of this earth & crawling with celebs, sought after models & Champagne!
Working backstage at this show really did not seem like work because it was so much damn fun! I got the chance to talk with Kimora Lee, Miss J, Mr J.
It really was surreal!
Zac was really cool & he was rocking this super bad pink lace blazer. I know that combo sounds weird but it was BAD ASS! If it came in a husky fit, I would so wear the shit out of it. Trust me! And since I’m from Detroit, you know I would rock it with pink gators!
At this show I really felt like my work shined as these set of photos represent my personal best work of all of the shows.
According to my girl Asia Willis at The NYLA Report:
“It was a fashion extravaganza on the runway, as well as backstage for Zac Posen. His main inspiration for beauty looks at his Spring 2011 Z Spoke show was theater and street performers, so he went with something dramatic. Everything from the hair and makeup to the nails screamed fun, over the top drama and color.”
One thing that I overheard back stage was from Ms J where he said these girls better work it tonight or there will be no next year for them. Ironically, one of the girls took a serious tumble then popped buck up like a rock star. As soon as she recovered, the entire audience applauded her. It was like a game show.
Oh well, she happens right?

Choosing a rainbow of flirtatious colors, girly silhouettes and a clusterfuck of celebs, Zac Posen presents Z Spoke–his newer, lower priced line. From prints of cartoon heads to sky high shoes, the show was “fashion-tainment” to the fifth degree.
There was nothing subtle about this collection. Full of youthful prints ranging from facial silhouettes to funky fruit graphics on nearly every piece, his collection speaks to the Z Spoke girl — bold, energetic, flirty and not the type that would shy away from a little attention.
Even Steve Madden made its Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week debut, collaborating with Zac Posen on the footwear that appeared on the runway.
Celebs spotted front row included: Ciara, Solange, Claire Danes, Carmen Electra, Estelle (singer), Shenae Grimes (90210), Kristin Cavallari (The Hills), Michelle Trachtenberg (actress), Kimora Lee Simmons, Russell Simmons and Jamie King.

Let me first start by saying that this is your strongest set of images I’ve seen thus far. A nice mix of behind the scenes stuff, and your strongest runway shots as well. (I could totally see you rocking that pink blazer. lol)
I watched the slide show, but I felt the need to open up the Flickr page so I could site the ones I liked the most. One of them you posted at the top of one of your initial MBFW posts, this one:

I also really liked this one:

Of the runway ones, my favs are the one at the top of this post, and this one (which I believe you posted elsewhere in one of your series’ of posts):

Nice work!
I’m a stickler for grammar and spelling, so let me correct myself right now, and point out that I meant to say “cite” and not “site.” 🙂
H E L L O OOOO Tafari! So far I’ve loved everything you’ve shot!
Great Job! Did I tell you “HOW PROUD I AM OF YOU?”
HUH? Boy, You A R E da Mein!
Michael – I appreciate your feedback bro! I too think the Zac Posen photos were my best. That may be because I was more comfortable with my lens & physically relaxed.
Mary – Thx so much. You support encourages me to keep on keeping on!
